Sr. Tax Analyst - Sales & Use

This position is responsible for performing a variety of Sales & Use tax processes and improvements. They will prepare and file Sales & Use tax returns, resolve Sales & Use tax audits, and perform tax research as needed. Additionally, they will provide support for franchise tax and state income tax. This position works closely with the corporate finance group and other departments, as necessary, to obtain information for accurate and timely reporting of tax information.

 

Sales & Use / Indirect Tax

·         Assist with monthly sales tax processes (system administration, importing/reconciling data, preparing journal entries, etc.)

·         Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns

·         Prepare monthly sales tax account reconciliations and analysis as required

·         Complete various ancillary state indirect tax returns

·         Resolve notices and inquiries from state tax authorities

·         Resolve Sales & Use tax audits

·         Work to reduce future exposure to assessments through process improvement and data management

 

State & Local Income Tax

·         Assist with preparation of apportionment data and supporting documentation

·         Resolve notices and inquiries from state tax authorities

Minimum Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent work experience

·         5+ years of experience in Corporate Tax, Corporate Accounting or public accounting firm

·         Experience in Sales & Use tax compliance

·         Experience in Sales & Use tax audit

Preferred Skills and Industry experience: 

·         CPA and/or Masters in Taxation is preferred

·         Basic Knowledge of multi-state Sales & Use tax laws

·         Experience with US State tax reporting and compliance

·         Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

·         Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills

·         Strong technology skills: specifically related to reporting and compliance; including Excel, Word, HFM, SAP, Vertex, One Source, SharePoint, Alteryx, or similar
