A Brief Overview

The SVP will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives that drive the comprehensive modernization of the global finance function. They will lead teams to deliver advanced capabilities, enhance operational efficiency, transform processes, and improve business performance. This executive role will act as a force multiplier for the CFO, driving key initiatives to reimagine and transform how Finance operates across the enterprise, delivering strategic value to the business while positioning our Finance organization for the future.


What you will do

  • Strategic leadership: Partners with CFO to translate strategic vision into a framework for strategy execution and governance; synthesizes strategy elements and operates as advisor and consultant to the Finance Leadership team to build out strategy elements. Creates multi-level communications to ensure awareness and visibility of the Global Finance Strategy at all levels of the organization. Ensures the strategy is updated and maintained to ensure relevance and alignment with RGA Strategy and key trends from Insurance and Financial industries.
  • Program and project management: Leads the design and execution of the comprehensive, multi-year transformation strategy across all regions; builds and maintains the Finance portfolio of projects as well as maintaining an aggregate set of roadmaps and strategies that the current portfolio supports. Establishes, advises, and communicates project management processes, tooling, and best practices across the Global Finance function.
  • Process optimization: Oversees the successful execution of key Global Finance operational processes: development, monitoring, and reporting of Global Finance goals; Creation and analysis of Finance performance through metrics, and reporting of performance via the balanced scorecard. Creates and delivers executive-level communications for leadership, business leaders, and executives; translates technical and abstract finance concepts into business-relevant language for business leaders and executives.
  • Technology & data governance: Leads the implementation of next-generation finance systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modernization, advanced analytics, and automation technologies. Establish a robust data governance framework to ensure finance data integrity, accessibility, and security.
  • Change leadership: Ensures deliberate incorporation of change management principles across strategic efforts, partner with OCM team as needed. Oversee development and distribution of all strategy-related communications, both internal and external to Finance
  • Strategic advisor: Serve as a key advisor and thought partner to the CFO on critical initiatives. Coordinates the CFO’s strategic agenda and prioritizes initiatives across the Finance organization.
  • Cross functional collaboration: Partner with technology, human resources, and business leaders across the enterprise to ensure technology, talent, and business strategies are aligned.
  • Outcome measurement: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of transformation initiatives. Continuously assess the impact of changes on operational efficiency, cost savings, risk mitigation, and financial performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent experience required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ Years in Finance, project management or organizational change management field required
  • 5+ Years in senior leadership roles required
  • Industry experience in insurance finance, actuarial, investment, risk and/or administration processes. preferred
  • Superior stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to negotiate commitments. Works effectively across organizational and geographic boundaries. Responds promptly and effectively to stakeholder issues and escalations. Adept at navigating through conflict. Exhibits high level of candor and courage in difficult situations and can make the tough call. required
