Job Description

General Summary:

As the Business Engagement & Technology Principal Engineer, the person will cultivate partnerships with our product owners, business partners, and Data/Technology/Engineering (DTE) to understand business and technical needs and to recommend, design, build, support, and manage the implementation of new solutions and integrations on the ServiceNow platform.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Focus on HR Service Delivery, IT Service Management, IT Asset Management from development to support and working with the corresponding business stakeholders.
  • Lead business requirements/user stories discussions (or partner with analysts), perform gap analyses, recommend solution designs, configure existing ServiceNow modules, develop custom applications, and develop integrations.
  • Understand their needs and vision and deliver technology solutions to support and enable their goals and objectives
  • Advise business partners on all critical technical decisions during project delivery.
  • Ensure collaboration and hand-off to support team post-delivery while remaining a subject matter expert and escalation point.
  • Collaborate with our on- and off-shore managed services team on projects, enhancements, and maintenance activities.
  • Stay current on new ServiceNow features/releases and unused module functionality to drive platform expansion and adoption.
  • Work with Internal Controls, audit support teams, Quality, and Testing and Validation teams as needed to meet SOX/GxP regulatory/validation and change management requirements.
  • Act as liaison to testing/validation team and Quality. Other GxP activities include maintaining the configuration workbook, functional requirements document, data validation scripts, and traceability for out-of-the-box functionality.
  • Research and apply available ServiceNow hotfixes, patches, and upgrades while ensuring configurations and customizations function as expected. Work with business partners to plan the timing, testing, and communication of these activities.
  • Perform day-to-day support, administration, and maintenance of the ServiceNow Platform
  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • Has Knowledge or experience in implementing supporting ServiceNow core modules.
  • Has knowledge of configurations such as Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Access Controls, Notifications, Flow Designers, and Workflows
  • Strong skills/experience with HR Service Delivery, IT Service Management, IT Asset Management, and Custom Applications
  • Knowledge of web-based development technologies, specifically – JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, Angular & CSS
  • Experience working on Web Services integrations such as REST, JSON & SOAP, and working in a SAAS Environment
  • Working & implementation experience with Service Portal
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Familiarity with GxP and SDLC Validation process
  • Good knowledge of running IT-managed services or outsourced/ offshore teams
  • Knowledge, familiarity, or experience working within a pharmaceutical industry in a validated environment.
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent
  • 6 years relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Pay Range:

    $140,700 - $211,000

    Disclosure Statement:

    The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
