Summary:The Manager, Medical Communications is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of relevant and quality communication materials in support of internal stakeholders and field facing medical teams. This role serves as a resource for all company employees concerning, medical information, and current literature. A key element of this role will be to develop and QC medical communication for medical accuracy and quality of communication to ensure consistent, and effective medical messaging that support the medical strategy for EXPAREL, iovera, and other relevant Pacira products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. - Providing medical input and editorial oversight for the development of high quality and on strategy medical communication
- Managing and facilitating the Medical Communication Review process to provide accurate and timely feedback to internal owners and stakeholders.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of medical communications materials including materials and tools for medical field force, including Veeva Vault submissions for PCRC review.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders on congress planning, congress, and competitive intelligence, to create materials that support relevant communications
- Providing congress support for commercial and medical teams in the form of pre-congress intelligence, and post-congress summaries
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining Medical Communications materials e.g., slide decks, evidence summaries, materials related to medical congress planning P&T materials
- Collaborating with key stakeholders and review literature to determine the need for new materials and determine the suitability of publications to support relevant communication points
- Executing compliant medical communication plans and support needs of internal stakeholders
- Supporting the development of medical training materials as needed
- Researching, updating, and gaining approval of quarterly heat maps for EXPAREL and iovera
- Collaborating with the Medical and Clinical teams to prepare monthly publications/clinical/medical team updates
- Performing literature searches as needed
- Planning and executing Advisory Boards/Steering Committee meetings as needed
- Assisting in budgeting and the development and execution of contracts as needed
- Graduate degree in a scientific discipline, minimum of a master’s degree (e.g., MS, MPH), doctorate level preferred (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of scientific writing/medical communications experience in bioscience industry or medical communication agency (1 y
