FGS Global is seeking a mid-career professional to join our Human Resources team in North America, based in our New York office. The Director, Human Resources will serve as the HR business partner to their assigned internal client group(s), with responsibilities including but not limited to general employee relations, supporting managers and other people leaders in their roles, performance management, and defining and executing talent acquisition needs. Other significant responsibilities will include leading and operationalizing learning and development initiatives in North America. This person will work alongside a group of HR generalists on the NA HR team, each of whom sit in dual roles as HR business partners and owners/leaders of specific HR centers of excellence to support our dynamic and growing firm
Specific experience in talent acquisition, learning and development, and/or other HR operations highly beneficial. The role will require outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
The role is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week expected to be in-office.
Specific responsibilities include:
- HR Business Partner: Engage with respective internal client group to serve as the point of contact for people and HR related matters – performance management, hiring, coaching, employee relations, etc.
- Recruiting / Talent Acquisition: Assist in posting, sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates for roles at various levels. Communicate with potential candidates and acting as a point of contact throughout the interview process. Participate in/advise on orientation for new employees.
- Learning & Development: Define, lead and operationalize the L&D strategy for North America, including onboarding programs, training initiatives, skills-based programs and ad-hoc needs for our employees.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years of HR Generalist experience. Experience working in a professional services firm preferred, but not required.
- Specific experience with change management or supporting post-merger integration activities a plus
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s degree a plus.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly collaborative, with an ability to work well in teams.
- Demonstrated track record of personally assessing and recruiting talent. This individual must have a “nose for talent” – knows how to source, assess, recruit, and close candidates.
- Well-honed project management skills.
- Must be passionate and able to lead in a “roll up your sleeves” manner that is people-centric, efficient, and collaborative.
- Must demonstrate empathy, and approachability, to encourage people in the organization to seek him/her out for advice while always operating in the best interests of the company.
- Well-rounded, adaptable, and detailed-oriented individual comfortable working through challenges.

- Technological proficiency, experience with an HRIS and well versed in Microsoft Office (word, excel, PPT).
This position requires the availability to work outside of normal office hours, including nights and weekends, when business needs arise.
