The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
Raw Stock Planner / Raw Stock Planner Senior
What You'll Do:
- Perform planning and production tasks, anticipate program needs, and expedite material requirements for production, manufacturing, or assembly operations.
- Review engineering drawings for identification of parts, materials and tooling needs.
- Write and maintain manufacturing routers, configuration requirements, and material traceability documentation.
- Create and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Work with external suppliers in requesting quotes, reviewing supplier qualifications and standards and working with the internal program management team in awarding work to external suppliers.
- Anticipate material shortages or delays and expedite as required to eliminate project schedule impacts.
- Provide material and manufacturing status reports.
- Work with the accounting department in reconciling accounts.
- Check and post data to production logs, records, or reports.
- Carry/move/expedite/inventory hardware and documentation between work centers as required.
- Collaborate closely with machine shop personnel to understand material preferences and needs.
- May support general administration tasks.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- Planner - High School diploma or equivalent plus 4 years or more related experience or a related 2-year technical degree and 2 years or more related experience.
- Planner Senior - High School diploma or equivalent plus 6 years or more related experience or a related 2-year technical degree and 4 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Proven customer service skills including identifying customer needs, being responsive to those needs and identify and solving problems quickly.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills leveraging toolsets to make sound scheduling decisions.
- Demonstrated attention to detail when reviewing documentation, interacting with systems, and completing high-quality work products.
- Solid communications skills with ability to articulate and interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Experience scheduling in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience working with external suppliers (machine shops and special processes) is preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 and AS9100 environment is preferred.
