Role Description

The Maintenance Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of our maintenance processes and systems, including skill assessments, development programs, communications on key performance indicators, and guiding best practices within the tooling areas. This role involves ensuring that all systems are clearly defined in a standard, operational, and are able to be reviewed objectively. The role will also collaborate with external sources to create talent pipelines.  The role plays a critical role in ensuring the operational status and availability of our manufacturing processes.  This position requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Maintenance Training, Development & Commissioning Support:

    • Manage a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, and engineers, providing training, mentorship, and performance management to ensure a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

    • Lead the maintenance voice of the operations customer during engineering commissioning and startup of new automation and robotics equipment as assigned, ensuring all systems are installed correctly and function as designed.

    • Develop, document, and enhance existing company maintenance procedures for commissioning equipment

    • Coordinate with vendors during factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) to ensure all equipment meets specifications and operational requirements.

    • Design and implement comprehensive training programs for maintenance staff, focusing on the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of new automation and robotics systems.

    • Conduct hands-on training sessions and develop training materials.

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes.

    Talent Pipeline Development:

    • Work with recruiting and workforce development members to establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions, training programs, and other external sources to develop a talent pipeline for future plant needs.

    • Participate in job fairs, career days, and other recruitment events to attract top talent.

    • Collaborate with PeopleOps to create internship, apprenticeship, and co-op programs that provide practical experience and develop future employees.

    Continuous Improvement & Management:

    • Identify opportunities for improving plant operations, efficiency, and safety through implementation of best practices and systems, such as andon reporting

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Ensure the Tooling / Makerspace area is safely operated and within compliance as commissioned, while supporting the continuous improvement needs of Form Factory 1
