About the role
Description
- Assess the Mauritanian Ministry of Justice and National Instance to Counter Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling for a 12-week deployment to Nouakchott, Mauritania
- Conduct stakeholder engagement including listening sessions with prosecutors, judges,
- law enforcement officers, defense attorneys etc…
- Assess the needs of the GIRM criminal justice system (policies, training, equipment,
- processes)
- Interview public, private, and civil society organizations. That work in the TIP.
- Review legal instruments such as the National Action Plan to counter TIP, Mauritanian
- Penal codes, and other regulatory and policy documents.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree /Bachelor’s degree plus ten years of experience
- 8 – 15 years of experience within the field of criminal justice or in the operation of judicial organizations. - Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Level 3 Arabic or French
- Preferred Qualifications – Demonstrated experience working with human trafficking, slavery and/or labor rights
- Demonstrated experience working within a civil and/or Islamic legal system
