We are searching for a Field Service Technician to join our Midwest Team!

Responsibilities:

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment

  • Provides technical support to customers including troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines

  • Provides training of customers’ operators and maintenance personnel

  • Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules

Your Profile / Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED required, Bachelors or Technical Degree preferred

  • 5 years of hands-on technical experience on electro-mechanical systems as applied to state-of-the-art industrial machinery

  • Strong electrical aptitude, including motors, AC & servo drives, electrical circuitry, PLC, and PC based control systems

  • Strong mechanical aptitude including power transmission systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics

  • Experienced troubleshooter on electro-mechanical systems

  • Excellent communications skills - must be proficient in English, have strong listening skills, and enjoy working with people

  • Strong customer service orientation with a “do whatever it takes” attitude

  • Able to multi-task and work under extreme pressure

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated and highly organized. Must be able to work independently.

  • Excellent computer literacy including, knowledge of MS Word and Excel

  • Able to travel extensively (up to 90%) including, weekend trips and on short notice.

  • Be able to read/understand blueprints, and mechanical drawings.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good eye-hand coordination, ability to bend, to lift 50-75 lbs potentially up to 100 lbs with assistance.

  • Ability to stand long periods of time through 10 hour workdays.

  • Ability to evaluate and solve problems in a logical manner.

  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Understanding and use of job safety precautions (OSHA knowledge) particularly regarding Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Working at heights correctly, and with proper safety mechanisms in place.

  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $36.46 - $44.62 per hour. GEA Group has different base
