Grammarly is excited to offer a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely in the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, or Portugal. Conditions permitting, teams will meet in person a few weeks every quarter at one of Grammarly's hubs in San Francisco, Kyiv, New York, Vancouver, and Berlin, or in a workspace in Kraków.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Head of Business Development to join our Sales organization. Grammarly Business and Grammarly for Education have existing teams of BDRs based in North America and Ukraine. The Head of Business Development will report directly to the CRO, and will formalize the BDR function. They will be responsible for developing, building, and implementing best practices required to build a scale a world-class function that will support our ambitious growth goals for 2023 and beyond.

Your impact

As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for building a world-class, global BDR organization. This organization will support multiple business segments, including inbound, outbound, and chat, with the leaders of each segment reporting to you. You will be responsible for building out the operating motion, metrics, process, and results, as well as partnering closely with enablement to build out onboarding, training and development, and career mapping. You will also partner closely with the CRO, Marketing, Head of EDU, and Head of Grammarly Business (GB) to run and operate the Grammarly Business function. You will drive the vision and strategy of the BDR organization, ensuring Grammarly has an incredible team in place now and in the future to reach our goals.

You will be evaluated on your team’s ability to drive business impact, including building world-class inbound, outbound, and chat teams. These teams will deliever against top-of-funnel metrics to ensure annual targets are achieved. Metrics will include SQLs and SQOs, bookings, and others. Success will also be measured on your team’s ability to hire and ramp new BDRs, (time to productivity), and building out a recruiting bench for Commercial Sales talent as we continue mapping out our career progression. This role is perfect for a thought-leader, innovator, and business partner for the rest of the Sales Leadership Team. It requires someone with systems thinking, an exceptional EQ, and strong, demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Within your first 30 days, you will understand the starting point and take over day-to-day operations.
  • By month three, you will have clarity on team goals, plan, and progress.
  • By month six, you will be operating effectively in an executive capacity with a fully functioning BDR team.
  • By year 1, all systems and processes will be operational and deemed a strength of the business, and career mapping, training, and development processes and flows will be built out.
