Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Business Analyst at a classified customer location in the Northern Virginia area. Successful Business Analyst demonstrates competency in business program and project management, financial reporting and analysis, strategic financial planning, benchmarking and program metrics, and business process improvement.

Responsibilities

This position supports a classified customer responsible for the purchase, accounting, and tracking of specialized assets.  The customer desires to operate under a new and more efficient business operating model and requires business and financial analytic support to sustain current operations using a more efficient business funding model that also addresses previous audit findings.  The customer requires process and data analysis of the operating business model that will sustain current operations.  

  • Applies working knowledge of data collection and analysis methods to prepare detailed financial information
  • Applies working knowledge of, and ability to apply, financial concepts and theories to prepare budget exhibits, monitor funds, financial reporting and funds appropriation to solve problems
  • Writing and presentation of results and analysis to client management
  • Support development of client financial reports
  • Develop process flows and related narrative that will be used in developing procedures
  • Ability to develop and train client on developed procedures.
  • Rate and cost analysis to support organizational funding efforts
  • Database testing of financial data to support system transitions
  • Regular coordination with government budget & finance managers
  • Customer service activities, to include budget/finance process briefings and tailored financial analysis
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and attention to detail, with ability to analyze and forecast trends
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to engage in process process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication/briefing skills; experience with briefing senior management a plus
  • Demonstrated comfort working in a dynamic, changing environment

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to use contemporary visualization and concept illustration tools and techniques
  • Ability to implement data analytic centers and solutions
  • Ability to design newsletters, story boards, dashboards, and place mats
  • Ability to use data reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau and Palantir as well as presentation platforms such as PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator
  • Applies knowledge of operating budget execution, funds control, processing/recording funding/expenditure documents and funds de-obligation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
  • 15 years of relevant work experience in financial management
  • Applies working knowledge of data collection and analysis methods
  • Demonstrates knowledge of financial regulations and requirements
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively problem solve
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

Desired Qualifications

  • Ten years Intelligence Community experience with five years direct experience supporting classified business and budget operations
