Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.

We are seeking a Community Outreach Specialist to join our team! The Specialist will establish, strengthen, and support community outreach with the community and faith-based organizations partnering hospitals, and ethnic media. We aim to foster relationships with Spanish-speaking communities throughout New York City. Fostering these relationships is vital for defining, developing, and carrying out numerous programs and research protocols, addressing priorities and concerns regarding health, specifically cancer health disparities in distinct communities.

 

You Will:

  • Plan, develop, and maintain outreach partnerships; creating community outreach activities, protocols, and programs
  • Develop strategies to help promote services provided by IH&CD Service
  • Attends departmental and community agency meetings and training, as appropriate
  • Responds to grants and reports as required or requested from Supervisor and PI
  • Conducts outreach, educational, and research program/protocol materials and activities for current and future use throughout the community
  • Maintain study data that is accurate and in compliance will all regulatory requirements. Data management will be required throughout the continuum of the projects, including design, collection, reporting, and analysis
  • Collaborate with various cancer organizations/institutions who share the Services’ interest in promoting health/cancer prevention and treatment messages, and develop strategies to help community members access services

You Are:

  • Genuinely interested in working in health disparities through service, outreach, education, and research
  • Passionate about achieving excellent results to ensure organizational outcomes
  • Exceptionally organized and an effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and implementing communications based on that understanding
  • Able to partner successfully with those who have varying perspectives, backgrounds, or styles

You Have:

  • Spanish fluency required (written and spoken)
  • Experience working in or with community-based outreach organizations focused on health-related programs and policies
  • Excellent administrative skills and digital literacy including familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or REDCap
  • Flexibility to occasionally work on weekends and evenings as needed #LI-P

Hyrbid- Monday-Friday; 9:00am-5:00pm. Flexibility Required.
