The Account Lead is a critical role within the Customer Success department that owns a named roster of key, preferred accounts (inclusive of agency and brand direct partners), in collaboration with Sales. This role will ensure client satisfaction, drive business growth, and deliver exceptional service that aligns with the company's long-term objectives. The Account Lead will serve as the primary point of contact for these clients, offering tailored solutions to meet their evolving needs while identifying new opportunities to maximize revenue.

Note: GumGum fosters a flexible work environment, offering GumGummers the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, for occasional in-person collaboration, we kindly ask that this position be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office in Santa Monica.

What You'll Achieve

  • Own a Portfolio of Key Accounts
    • Cultivate strategic and long-lasting relationships with GumGum’s key clients
    • Serve as an expert on GumGum’s managed direct, programmatic and data revenue streams, and offer insights and recommendations to clients on how to implement creative marketing strategies across multiple buying channels to help them maximize value against their marketing objectives
    • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts to maximize revenue potential
    • Develop strategic account plans for your portfolio, establishing annual objectives and quarterly milestones for you and your counterparts to work towards to achieve client goals and objectives
    • Regularly meet with clients to assess satisfaction levels, identify growth opportunities, and proactively address potential concerns
    • Deliver and lead client business reviews
    • Collaborate with Sales to forecast revenue for key accounts by understanding business/budget cycles, strategic goals, and purchasing plans
  • Lead within Client Solutions
    • Lead, not just manage tasks; think multiple steps ahead to move an account forward
    • Collaborate effectively internally across Sales, Client Strategy, Design and Operations functions to develop and grow existing accounts, address service gaps, ensure high-quality deliverables, and maintain client trust
    • Adhere to and contribute to enhancing standard methodologies within Client Solutions, develop effective customer-specific playbooks and guides, and train and onboard resources onto account as required
    • Develop and implement corrective action plans as needed to resolve service delivery issues or prevent future challenges.

Skills You'll Bring

  • BA/BS degree in Business (Advertising/Marketing) or similar experience
  • 5-7 years of client facing experience required (in the digital media field, preferably in online verticals - Account Management and/or Media Planning)
  • Expertise working in programmatic and omni-channel marketing required
  • Consistent track record of growing accounts by developing a strong relationship with clients, understanding their business objectives, and recommending the best strategies for implementing solutions 
  • Effective time management skills – ability balance competing demands to prioritize and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence speaking to large groups 
  • Experience in mentorship roles either personally or professionally preferred 
  • Solid experience in Excel/Google Sheets and Powerpoint/Google Slides, and the ability to use large data sets to build insights and strategy recommendations 
  • Familiarity with marketing-related analytics concepts and advertising metrics required 
  • Understanding of Contextual Advertising preferred
