Director, Training Solutions

Job Summary:

The Training Solutions Director is responsible for planning, managing, executing, and leading training and skill development engagements for procurement, sales, and operations clients. In this role, the Director is charged with managing our pursuit, close, and service delivery activities, including designing training curricula, overseeing training delivery, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs. The Director, Training Solutions will work in a variety of different industries and will tailor training specific to each client’s challenges and needs.  The Director is responsible for ensuring exceptional client service and high-quality development and delivery of training solutions. Additional responsibilities include managing all aspects of project administration including time entry, client contracting, billings, collections, and adjustments to engagement realization when needed.   

The Director is also responsible for developing new business with existing clients and prospects of the Firm, including the identification of target companies and development of proposals.  This role also actively contributes to thought leadership and supports practice leadership in professional development of the training solutions team.  The Director collaborates across Segment and Practice Leaders to develop and expand training offerings that complement other solutions delivered by the Management Consulting organization. 

Job Duties:

Engagement Project Leadership:

• Drives professional, exceptional, high-quality client service
• Designs, develops, and implements innovative training programs and solutions, including e-learning, instructor-led classroom training, and on-the-job coaching
• Takes a lead role in planning and overseeing training solutions projects, and applying knowledge of BDO standards to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality services
• Manages the training budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximum return on investment
• Collaborates with client teams and BDO content design professionals to tailor training programs to specific job roles and functions
• Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, using relevant metrics and feedback to continuously improve training initiatives
• Stays informed on latest trends and best practices in training and development to incorporate innovative techniques into training programs
• Acts as a high-level contact for clients regarding all questions and information, including progress, challenges encountered, and issues identified

People Development:

• Leads staff recruitment and retention activities
• Leads the sourcing of independent contractors and alliance partners to supplement and support the BDO team capabilities
• Mentors staff and contractors
• Provides leadership and support for offshore logistics and content design team

Business Development:

• Leads the development of proposal documents and conducting presentations in pursuit of acquiring new clients.
• Partners with peers in other business lines to identify and promote training solutions to existing and prospective clients, in addition to identifying cross-selling opportunities to other BDO business lines.
• Contributes to thought leadership, including conference presentations, webinars, articles, and research studies

Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• Oversees the Training Solutions Program Administration and Content Design teams, in collaboration with the Segment Leader
• Evaluates the performance of Training Solutions Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates
• Assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development, as assigned
• Acts as a leader and mentor to Training Solutions Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communication, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Management Information Systems, required  
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, preferred

Experience: 

• Ten (10) or more
