Overview

NV5 is actively recruiting a Senior GIS Analyst (Site Lead) that serves as the senior site lead across any remote sites or office locations. This role is responsible for providing support and guidance to GIS Analysts and GIS Developers in the performance of complex geospatial analysis.  

 

Due to federal contract requirements, the candidate must be a US Citizen and capable of attaining a security clearance, if necessary.

 

Work Environment:

  • Location: Client site - Washington, DC metropolitan area
  • Travel: up to 15%

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the senior site lead across any remote sites or office locations.
  • Document and monitor assigned tasks
  • Provide support and guidance to GIS Analysts and GIS Developers in the performance of complex geospatial analysis.
  • Inform PM of all issues, concerns, and accomplishments.
  • Anticipate problems and provide mitigation and issue resolution. 
  • Schedule and assign duties to subordinates and complete tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints.
  • Interact with Government management personnel and Functional Leaders
  • Prepare and provide both written and oral reports to contractor management and Government representatives, to include the COR and CO.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree Requirements: BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Graphic Design, or other related field w/GIS or High School Diploma with relevant professional industry/program certifications.
  • 8 + years of experience in GIS, of which at least two years include direct supervisory experience of GIS professionals.
  • U.S. Citizenship required to comply with government contracts
  • Demonstrated experience generating complex, multi-layered maps and performing complex geospatial analyses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in GIS technologies, best practices, and concepts.
  • Familiar with relational database fundamentals and concepts.
  • Demontrated experience in the development of GIS applications using mobile and web-based mapping platforms.
  • Shall have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.

Desired (Optional)

  • DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD)
  • Experience with imagery and image analysis

The pay range for this Washington DC position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions.
