Role Objectives:The Legal Contracts Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the company’s legal, clinical and commercial operations, on a global basis. Working closely with the Global Head of Legal and Legal Counsel, this role will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of agreements across the business in the first instance. The position also requires a proactive legal professional with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Primary responsibilities are to manage the full lifecycle of clinical trial agreement contracts on behalf of clients with Institutions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution, working closely with the Clinical Trial Paralegal and Clinical Trial operations.
  • Also draft, review, and negotiate a variety of other agreements, including Master Service Agreements, confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, consultancy agreement, safety data exchange agreements, and licensing agreements, ensuring they align with company policies, applicable laws, and business objectives.
  • Provide support in ensuring legal compliance across all contractual matters by interpreting and applying relevant laws and regulations within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector.
  • Work with the Global Head of Legal and Legal Counsel to respond to internal stakeholders on all contract-related queries and provide clear, practical, and timely legal advice to support decision-making and business goals.
  • Identify potential risks and liabilities within contracts and propose effective mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests.
  • Review and provide feedback on documents, presentations, and communications with third parties to ensure legal accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Conduct legal research, monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the company’s operations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, particularly those governing pharmaceutical and healthcare contracts globally.
  • Support all contract-related matters globally, provide guidance and ensuring all internal legal and compliance processes are followed.
  • Partner closely with business teams to ensure that contracts are structured and executed in a manner that balances legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Stay current on global clinical agreements and country specific requirements.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure consistency.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives, projects, and process improvement activities within the legal function as required.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a paralegal certificate, legal diploma, or equivalent legal training is strongly preferred. An advanced law degree (e.g., JD or LLM) is an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years' of commercial experience, ideally within the pharmaceuticals/life sciences sector
  • Experience in clinical trial contract management, including international exposure. Strong experience reviewing and negotiating terms & conditions and adapting clauses to country‑specific requirements. Comfortable negotiating with clinical sites and service providers across multiple region
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise information
  • Proven experience with data privacy, including its application and importance in healthcare
  • Proficiency in legal and financial concepts, with strong analytical and due-diligence capabilities
  • Excellent organisational skills and a track record of supporting or leading planning processes
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Confident and effective communicator with fluency in written and verbal commercial English
