Carry out all areas of strength and conditioning for assigned teams while adhering to NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations. In addition, the assistant strength and conditioning coach will support the director and assistant director of athletic performance in the daily operation of the facilities and other duties as assigned. PT assistant AP coach will also carry out additional administrative duties as assigned by the director/assistant director of athletic performance. Finally, this position will carry out all areas of athletic performance for assigned teams while adhering to NCAA, RMAC, university and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement, supervise and monitor all facets of Athletic Performance programs for assigned teams, to include:
· Periodized Annual Plans
· Sport specific resistance training programs
· Sport specific conditioning programs
· Individual programs when necessitated
· Conduct fitness testing, computation of results, and evaluation - Show up to your assigned teams workouts in a timely manner, be there to execute the designed program, and assure all athletes are able to complete the workout.
- Collaboration with fellow student-athlete health and welfare teammates and sport coaching personnel to monitor, assess and develop protocols for training loads, neuromuscular fatigue, recovery, athlete readiness, and other performance factors
- Instruct proper lifting technique and assist in spotting when necessary.
- Effectively and properly motivate athletes to achieve maximum potential in all areas of performance.
- Anticipate potential risks of injury, have the ability to implement emergency medical procedures.
- Assist in the recruitment, retention and hiring of highly qualified and competent team members.
- Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Athletic Performance with all tasks for which he/she is responsible and manage the general operation of the facility in the Director and Assistant Director’s absence; be prepared to fulfill all responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning in his/her absence.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with fellow athletic performance teammates and athletic administration.
- Keep the weight room clean at all times. Pick up paper, pencils, towels, chalk, etc.
- Keep all equipment properly maintained i.e., lubricating, cleaning, disinfecting. Report all equipment and weight room damages.
- Use technology and social media to foster an effective and efficient overall experience for student-athletes and department team members.
- Conduct regular meetings with respective sport coaches.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Experience in coaching at the youth or collegiate level.
- Working towards obtaining your degree.
- Maintain all required strength & conditioning certifications and memberships (NSCA – CSCS, and/or CSCCa – SCCC).
Certifications and Licenses:
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with many internal and external entities in a variety of ways. Must be able to communicate with coaches, student-athletes, athletics administration and prospective student-athletes and their families.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated results leading and coaching a high-caliber sports program in a highly competitive, academic environment.
- Priority given to previous Mines employees.

- Ability to work closely with athletic training, and staff to facilitate prevention and recovery from injury of student-athletes
SALARY
$25-$30 per hour.
