Perricone Farms, a leading citrus juice supplier located in Beaumont, CA, is seeking a Production Technician 3 (Extraction Operator) to join our team. This is a fast-paced position which offers long-term, consistent employment with a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to Health, Vision, Dental, Life and 401K.  


Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour + $2 Differential

Shift / Hours: 3rd Shift @ 11:00 pm to 7:30 am + possible weekend work (If needed)


As Production Technician 3 (Extraction Operator), you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the extraction process on the production line to ensure the efficient and accurate extraction of materials. This role includes operating and monitoring extraction equipment, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting, adhering to safety and quality standards, and supporting all departments by performing the following duties:

  • Safety Inspections- for extraction line area and equipment.
  • Fruit and equipment Inspections – Inspect fruit’s quality and size, equipment (Extractors, fruit sizer (to adjust based on fruit size), conveyers and safety disconnects).
  • Chemicals Inspection – Ensure chemicals are in place before the start up (Fruit wash and parasitic acid/ PAA) and both are in the right concertation before start sending fruit to the line.
  • Glycol pump- to ensure glycol pump is turn “ON” manually as well in the HMI screen.
  • To adjust pulp percentage on HMI based on fruit variety.
  • Ensure have the right amount of fruit graders to meet HACCP program.
  • Throughput Efficiency – to monitor equipment efficiency, tons run per hour/ per variety and juice gallons.
  • Record on flow meter list total gallons per fruit load and tank number assigned for each fruit load processed for traceability and yield reports.
  • To perform ACUS (Automatic Clean up System) on every fruit change over process.
  • To communicate maintenance any equipment issue and report to manager and/or supervisor.
  • To work closely with Oil Operator to ensure the extraction line is feeding extractors accordingly of the two processes.
  • To open and close batch tickets in the ERP system.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Plant, State and      Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and      Quality system.
  • Responsible      for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.

Organizational Relationships:

Position reports to Shift Manager. Direct reports to this position are: None

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Spanish is a plus.
