Maintenance Planner/Scheduler - Louisville, KY
We are looking for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to improve maintenance work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling and coordination of manpower, parts/material, and equipment access. The planner/scheduler will also develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives and maintain the SAP maintenance system.
This position contains the MPI role of Maintenance Planner/Scheduler which develops and maintains maintenance PM’s, maintains the necessary documentation to support BASF’s technical standards (mechanical integrity program, equipment files, Bill of Materials…etc.).
Duties:
Develops and prepares detailed maintenance job plans in SAP.
This includes:
Initial job screening by walking down jobs in the field.
Analysis of job requirements to determine detailed job plan (safety aspects, resource requirements, costs…etc.)
Generation of detailed job plan (scope, resources, costs, equipment, materials…etc.) in the SAP system
Procurement of necessary parts and external services as needed.
Job scheduling and coordination with the operations group.
Key administrative responsibilities include:
Maintain essential records and files to prepare accurate and meaningful management reports. Ensure KPIs are captured and reported for equipment reliability, maintenance department performance, budget, and planning/scheduling compliance.
Interpretation of historical equipment cost information and participation in budgetary preparation, tracking, and analysis.
Develop/manage weekly backlog of maintenance requests for operations review and facilitate weekly planning meeting between departments.
Analyze cost trends and recommendations for continual improvement.
Maintain the site’s equipment Bill of materials in SAP.
Perform other maintenance-related tasks and special assignments as requested by the Operations Manager, TES Manager, or others.
Serve as back-up coverage for the Maintenance and Reliability Manager in addition to taking off-hours and weekend maintenance call responsibilities should the need arise.
Support the plant project engineers with the implementation of new projects, ensuring that the project aligns with current maintenance processes (standardization of parts, familiar equipment…etc.)
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
Education:
High school diploma (or equivalent), trade school with minimum of 5 years of strong on the job experience in a plant maintenance environment required.
Six sigma and lean training a plus
Experience:
Maintenance planning and supervision preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment
Required experience with the SAP computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Requires familiarity with predictive/preventative maintenance programs, work processes (MPI), and industry best practices.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Computer skills including Microsoft office.
- Significant knowledge of mechanical and instrumentation equipment and the maintenance, mechanical integrity, and inspection processes associated with them.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities at the same time.
- Must have technical competencies of troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and work planning/estimating.
- Familiarity with BASF Technical standards, procurement policies, material control/expediting, estimating material requirements, the project execution process, as well as site and plant procedures or similar systems.
