We are a premier pediatric specialty, research, and academic teaching hospital with a medical and research partnership with Massachusetts General Brigham. It is the world’s leading center for pediatric burn care and is the only American Burn Association (ABA) exclusively pediatric verified burn center in New England and New York.The Boston Shriners Hospital is one of four pediatric burn specialty hospitals in Shriners Children’s health system and provide comprehensive care for cleft lip and palate, as well as other craniofacial anomalies, with a multidisciplinary care team.
Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have a full time opportunity available for a Security and Safety Coordinator.
Position supervises personnel involved in establishing and maintaining Hospital security and property protection program. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Takes active role in providing support in achieving and maintaining the Environment of Care Standards for the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation.
Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and evaluates all Emergency Preparedness and Environment of Care plans and programs in order to maintain a safe environment for patients and personnel.
- Assesses and monitors compliance with Joint Commission, CDPH, OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials, emergency response standards, and other regulatory agencies.
- Communicates Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness information to management staff, supervisory staff, physicians and employees.Represents hospital in coordination with community and regional based agencies.
- Recommends courses of action for managing Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness concerns and problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma/GED required
Bachelor's in Safety preferred
Experience
2 years Hospital Security experience preferred
2 years Healthcare management/supervisory experience preferred
Background in disaster response and emergency management is preferred
