About the role

Shawnee Hills Golf Course is seeking an experienced Golf Professional/Clubhouse Manager to oversee all aspects of golf operations and clubhouse management. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive golf and clubhouse program, supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring a high standard of service and facility maintenance for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Leadership & Supervision
    • Oversees hiring, training, scheduling, and performance of seasonal and part-time employees and volunteers.
    • Directs daily work assignments, monitors productivity, and ensures compliance with legal and safety standards.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Develops and manages the annual clubhouse budget and expenditures.
    • Coordinates procurement of services, materials, and supplies.
  • Golf Shop Management
    • Manages golf shop operations, including merchandise purchasing, inventory control, and point-of-sale promotions.
    • Maintains appropriate stock levels and monitors operating supplies.
  • Program Development & Instruction
    • Plans and conducts leagues, outings, tournaments, and instructional programs.
    • Oversees junior golf initiatives and Golf Day Camp for children ages 8 to 17.
  • Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
    • Leads or supports projects outlined in the annual work plan, including Golf Academy, Pace of Play, Technology, and First Tee.
    • Collects and analyzes data, solicits staff input, and delivers recommendations and results on schedule.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in club management, retail, or hospitality.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
  • PGA or LPGA Class A membership preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines.
  • Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
