About the role
Shawnee Hills Golf Course is seeking an experienced Golf Professional/Clubhouse Manager to oversee all aspects of golf operations and clubhouse management. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive golf and clubhouse program, supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring a high standard of service and facility maintenance for all patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Leadership & Supervision
- Oversees hiring, training, scheduling, and performance of seasonal and part-time employees and volunteers.
- Directs daily work assignments, monitors productivity, and ensures compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Operational Oversight
- Develops and manages the annual clubhouse budget and expenditures.
- Coordinates procurement of services, materials, and supplies.
- Golf Shop Management
- Manages golf shop operations, including merchandise purchasing, inventory control, and point-of-sale promotions.
- Maintains appropriate stock levels and monitors operating supplies.
- Program Development & Instruction
- Plans and conducts leagues, outings, tournaments, and instructional programs.
- Oversees junior golf initiatives and Golf Day Camp for children ages 8 to 17.
- Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Leads or supports projects outlined in the annual work plan, including Golf Academy, Pace of Play, Technology, and First Tee.
- Collects and analyzes data, solicits staff input, and delivers recommendations and results on schedule.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in club management, retail, or hospitality.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
- PGA or LPGA Class A membership preferred.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines.
- Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
