DEPARTMENT: Diagnostic Medical Sonography

VICE PRESIDENT: Vice-President of Instruction, Academic, Transfer, and Health  

                                 Sciences 

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

Teach classes and assist program chairperson with planning, organizing, and implementing program goals and activities related to clinical activities. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

 

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree with a concentration in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or its equivalent; Bachelor’s degree with a major or equivalent that is appropriate to the teaching assignment preferred; a minimum of five years full-time professional experience as a general and OBGYN sonographer.  

 

Current documentation as a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with certifications in abdomen, OBGYN, and breast sonography, specific to the concentrations offered.  

 

Additional certification in echocardiography is preferred.  

 

Minimum qualifications as defined by the accrediting agency(ies) JRC-DMS and CAAHEP.
