Job Summary:
Housekeepers provide safe and sanitary surroundings for patients, employees, and the public in both hospital and clinic settings. Housekeepers must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, and moving of objects/materials. Housekeepers must also participate in the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, and/or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-Borne Pathogen Standard or Olivia Hospital & Clinic Exposure Control Plan for Blood-Borne Pathogens.
Education, Training or Degree Required: (indicate preferred or required)
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Carry linens, towels, toiletry items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
Sort, count linens, and store them in linen closets.
Clean rooms, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, corridors, locker rooms, high touch areas and other assigned work areas so that applicable health standards are met.
Dispose of trash or waste materials to appropriate disposal areas.
Sweep, scrub, and vacuum floors using brooms, mops, and vacuums.
Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary.
Hang draperies and dust/wash window blinds as needed.
Disinfect equipment, furniture, and supplies according to OHC standards.
Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses to effectively clean.
Attend facility and department meetings as scheduled.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.
