Anticipated Hiring Salary
$3,680.00 Per Month ($44,160.00 Annually)
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Position Summary
Under direct supervision, the Custodian’s primary responsibility is to maintain all campus buildings in an acceptable cleanliness, to clean and sanitize assigned areas, restroom facilities, common/public spaces. Work includes sweeping, mopping, waxing and polishing floors, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, cleaning windows and glass surfaces as directed, removal of trash from buildings and rearranging furniture in classrooms as directed.
Position Information
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wax and polish floors, clean classrooms and laboratories, shops, and locker rooms. Unlock doors. Safeguard buildings and equipment from unauthorized use. Empty wastebaskets and remove trash and empty recycling containers. Assist faculty and students in moving tables, chairs and other furniture in classrooms, and auditoriums and in assisting in setting up and preparing for athletic events, assemblies, and graduation exercises. In addition to that, staff and faculty offices will be cleaned according to schedule.

Window washing (interior) on all floors, exterior first floor only and other designated areas.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Abilities:
Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety; operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position; use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication; observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required; perform work involving regular physical activity; and establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Some positions may require ability to move up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications

General knowledge of methods, materials, chemicals, and equipment used in custodial services.

Experience in custodial or commercial housekeeping and experience working in educational facility.
Environmental/Physical/Special

Possess a valid California Driver’s License; comply with the Defensive Drivers Training program requirements if a vehicle is used to travel on official business.
