Job Summary
As a Test Engineering Intern, you'll support the design, development, and execution of test procedures for electrical components and systems. You'll work closely with experienced test engineers to ensure products meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. This role provides hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
- Test Development & Execution: Help design and execute test plans for new and existing products. This includes developing test procedures, building test fixtures, and conducting both manual and automated tests on electrical hardware.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyze test data to identify and troubleshoot issues. You'll document findings in detailed test reports and present results to the engineering team.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Work with senior engineers to diagnose and resolve electrical issues and system failures identified during testing.
- System and Hardware Support: Assist in the maintenance and calibration of test equipment, ensuring all stations are functioning correctly and within specifications.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with software, mechanical, and design teams to understand product requirements and ensure testability.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test procedures, results, and design modifications.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python, C++, or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
- Experience with PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members.
- Initiative: Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
