The Seventh Judicial District is accepting applications for one full-time Court Operations Leadworker I for Douglas, Morrison, and Todd Counties for current MN Judicial Branch employees. While the candidate selected will have some flexibility, the primary office assignment is in one of the three counties listed above and will be required to travel regularly to other counties where there is a business need, on average two to three days per week. Mileage reimbursement between counties will be provided in accordance with the Travel and Reimbursement Policy.
This position involves a full range of court operations and case processing work for all areas of Court Administration. The Court Operations Leadworker serves as the subject matter expert and point of contact for staff with regard to Court Administration case processing. This position is responsible for training, reviewing work, scheduling month end and other finance, identifying potential errors or next steps as well as providing case processing guidance in compliance with CAPs or other direction; the position needs to be able to identify errors, needs to have a solid understanding of CAPs and possesses strong problem-solving skills to provide guidance on case processing. Provides back-up and may perform some of the same duties as lower-level classifications as needed. Typical hours for this position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday, with some flexibility based on business needs.
This classification is not a supervisory classification.

Perform the full scope of varied court clerical work involved in case processing for Douglas, Morrison, and Todd County Court, utilizing SharePoint, Electronic Filing System (EFS), MNCIS, MNDES, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe, and related computer systems.
Serves as a subject matter expert and resource for all court staff, using knowledge and expertise to work reports, answer questions, address complex or unique case processing situations, and solve problems; accesses a variety of resources to research problems and consults with supervisor and court administrator on identified issues or trends.
Act as the first point of contact for complex matters and procedural resources by providing daily support and direction, as well as responding to questions and resolving issues for administrative and judicial staff. This position needs to readily identify issues with case processing.
Leads, coordinates, and provides work direction to staff in 3 counties which includes reviewing their work for accuracy, compliance, answering case-related and procedural questions, scheduling assignments, coordinating workloads and workflow.
Make recommendations in all 3 counties on workflow, processes/procedures, etc. for improvements in consultation with the supervisors and court administrator.
Develop training schedules for employees, provide initial and ongoing procedural and court information system training to new and existing staff for office-related functions; write and maintain procedures and training materials in the area of assignment.
Identify training needs, train court operations staff on procedures; new or changed processes or systems and coordinate with leadership group to ensure consistent and up-to-date training to new team members and ongoing peer-to-peer training.
Prepare and update the training materials for ongoing procedural and court information system used for new and existing staff.
Review new employees’ work for accuracy and provide coaching and training as needed; monitor progress of staff training and work performance.
Proactively maintain knowledge of court policies, processes, and procedures including new and update Court Administration processes. Attend MJB News sessions by district trainers and schedule team meetings to ensure the necessary changes are made to local processes as needed. Consult with supervisors to determine impact and recommend needed changes.
Stay abreast of newly published court operations procedures; compares current processes with recommended or required changes to procedures, policies, and/or processes, and advises supervisor on impact and needed changes.
