Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student-Technology Deployment for John Deere Harvester Works located in East Moline, IL, you will:

Perform design, modeling, and build of new robotic systems

Create Man/Machine charts for robotic applications

Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigate, gather, and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.

Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.

Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.

Participate in team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency.

Implement new manufacturing processes and technology.
This position is available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need
-
Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in an engineering discipline; others may apply

Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. local accredited college/university

Graduation date of May 2026 or later

Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
-
Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly
-
Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly
-
Knowledge of engineering tools, systems and databases (SAP, MES, etc.)

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
-
General understanding of computer aided design and/or engineering tools (ie: ProE, AutoCAD, VisMockup, WeldPRO, etc.)

Must be able to commute to the work location in East Moline, Illinois, on a daily basis during summer break. (Depending on work available and skill set maybe able to work remote during school year.)
What Makes You Stand Out

Previous manufacturing or welding experience.

High level of understanding of robotic process planning and execution

Self-motivator with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision

Ability to effectively interact and communicate with wage employees, supervisors, managers and other engineers
- Pursuing a degree in Weld Engineering or related discipline.
