As a Unarmed Security Officer - Retail Site in Hilo, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents, while your approachable demeanor will contribute to a positive experience for everyone on site. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the retail location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any security-related incidents or hazards encountered during patrols to Allied Universal and site management as required.
• Assist with access control and monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized entry.
• Support loss prevention efforts by being present and attentive in high-traffic areas and/or locations identified by site management.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, disturbances, and/or other unwanted activity within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements. 
• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
