Position Purpose:
The Housekeeping Aide I maintains all assigned hospital areas in a clean, sanitary, safe and attractive condition.
What you will do:
- Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following correct procedures.
- Collect and dispose of all soiled linen and trash according to instructions.
- Performs cleaning procedures for isolation rooms as prescribed by written Housekeeping Isolation Procedures.
- Maintains commitment to Safety Procedures of the Hospital.
Working Conditions:
Position requires ability to constantly lift objects more than 20 lbs., perform simple manipulative and gross body coordination skills; walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods; see objects closely and far away and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
Frequent contact with water and germicide solutions on a daily basis, soil linen, handling of biologically unclean material, and bio-medical waste. Employee may constantly be exposed to hazardous materials such as chemicals, blood, body tissues or fluids and dust.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of high school preferred, but not required.
Housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to retain on-job training
Must be able to read, written instructions in English and comprehend verbal instructions in English.
