Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$150,000 - $220,000The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy will lead strategic projects sanctioned by Lilly’s Executive Committee, support the annual Strategic Planning process, and partner with fellow members of the strategy and transformation team to bring objective insight and analysis to inform key strategic choices of the company. This role will be responsible for leading strategic projects across a wide range of functional areas and disciplines. This role will also be expected to maintain connectivity to internal efforts and dynamics across the company as well as industry and macro trends to position the company for long-term success. A strong analytical background, demonstrated learning agility, project management, and breadth of thinking and experience will make the individual in this role an indispensable strategy team member and partner to the senior leaders with whom they interact.
The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy will report to the Associate Vice President of Corporate Strategy and will work closely and independently with members of the company’s senior leadership, including members of Lilly’s Executive Committee.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leadership of corporate strategy projects
- External environment sensing efforts
- Industry and peer group monitoring and analysis
- Prompt and impactful communication, engagement, and influence with internal leadership and key decision-makers
- Representation and communication of Lilly strategy to internal organizations and gatherings
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or health-care related fields; consulting experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree

Additional Preferred skills/experience:
- M.B.A. preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner/influence cross functionally and externally to deliver results.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the willingness and ability to deal with uncertainty and tension.
- Demonstrated operational and organizational experience and the ability to think broadly while not losing sight of important details.
- Competitive Intelligence or External Sensing experience.
- Shown capability to develop and deliver both strategic and tactical plans.
- Ability to balance multiple activities, prioritize and handle ambiguity.
- Expertise in identifying, preventing and resolving complex problems with significant impact to the business.
- Proficient in devising strategies for highly visible projects that have significant business impact on the company.
Additional Information:
- While it is preferred for this role to be based in Indianapolis, there is some geographic flexibility. This leader will be expected to travel approximately 10% of the time, excluding routine time on the ground in Indianapolis.
