2. Summary
The operations team is made up of bright, dynamic collaborators who are motivated and committed to provide customer-service oriented operational excellence at the campus. The operations team has a direct impact on campus environment and culture. Operations Assistants provide quality reception coverage, facilities and administrative operations support, and ensure students and faculty on campus are appropriately set up to conduct in-person and livestream classes. Operations Assistants provide event support and help ensure internal and external constituents are set-up to host events. Additionally, Operations Assistants provide welcoming and prompt service to the variety of Northeastern’s community members, prospective students, and on-campus event attendees.
These are part-time, non-benefits eligible, temporary positions with 20-25 hours required per week. Candidates must be available to work weekday evenings from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm, and Saturdays between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The position is on site at the Arlington, VA campus (not eligible for remote work) and reports to the Campus Operations Manager.
3. Qualifications
The candidate should have a minimum of two years of office or administrative coordination experience. Experience or interest in higher education is a strong plus. The candidate must enjoy working with diverse populations, and be comfortable working independently, maintaining confidential information, and carrying out on-site health and safety procedures.
The successful candidate will have outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, and at least intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Must be able to learn quickly in a technical environment, effectively use Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and operate video conferencing equipment, printers, copiers, and computers.
This position requires the regular movement of modular furniture to configure spaces for classes and events, and to re-set those spaces.
Flexibility, a positive attitude, the ability to work with a team, and commitment to excellence are vital.
4. Responsibilities
The Operations Assistant will be responsible for supporting campus operations, including:
• Staffing the campus for class sessions outside of standard business hours and acting as the first point of contact for a variety of stakeholders
• Providing customer service to students, faculty, and others on campus which may include troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with classroom and event technology
• Handling campus space setup, reconfiguration, breakdown, and re-set
• Providing hospitality operations, and administrative support for both internal and external events held on campus
• Serving as a liaison to authorized visitors such as students and employees from other locations, business partners, and prospective learners
• Following and supporting university and facility health and safety procedures
• Completing general administrative duties such as triaging email to the appropriate campus colleague/office; organizing files; conducting inventories and restocking supplies; troubleshooting equipment; maintaining the campus areas in a clean, sanitized, and stocked manner; and, filling work orders (including cleaning and maintenance requests).
