Job/Position Summary
The Sr. Customer Quality Manager (CQM) is responsible for product assurance and customer quality for CTS customers globally. The Sr. CQM will work with Customers, Director of Global Quality, the Director of Process Engineering, Sales, the VP of Engineering and Directors, Plant Managers and Plant Quality Managers to achieve customer satisfaction. The person should exhibit a managerial style promoting openness, problem ownership, data driven decision-making and teamwork.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- The CQM is the lead for all global quality activities for Sensors & Mechatronics customers globally (this will include customer locations in all regions).
- Lead and develop a high-performance Customer Quality team across different products, regions, and customers.
- Pro-actively schedules regular communication (visits) and establishes relationships with key individuals at all levels of the customer.
- BU lead for monitoring customer performance and to drive pro-active and re-active quality reviews (both internal and external customers).
- Participates in all phase gate reviews of new program launches for the assigned customer.
- Drives common approach between customer locations globally.
- Voice of the customer inside CTS, and inside the customer for quality requirements.
- Ability to manage group structure, resource allocation, and personnel matters/issue resolution.
- Correlate 0-km and warranty data.
- Drives continuous improvement activity between the manufacturing plants and the customer.
- Reports customer supplier ratings on quality and delivery and manages/communicates customer “report card” quality metrics (KPI’s).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ISO/TS 16949/IATF16949 & Lead Auditor Training.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, tools, techniques.
- 8-D and other problem-solving techniques.
- Core AIAG quality tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, Statistical software.
- Experience managing internal and external quality in the automotive industry is a plus.
Required Education and Experience
- Four year degree (BS) in Business, Engineering or other similar technical degree.
- Quality / Engineering / Manufacturing or experience - Automotive related.
- MBA is a plus, but not required.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work several hours at a computer.
- Ability to travel (domestic and international) as needed.
Working Environment
- Standard office environment.
