ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Associate, Packaging Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our packaging solutions for our North America Air Care team. You’ll contribute to the development and qualification of innovative packaging materials and formats that support new products, line extensions, and evolving business needs. Whether it's launching a new product or optimizing existing packaging, your technical expertise will help ensure our solutions are efficient, sustainable, and consumer friendly.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—including R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain—to deliver packaging that meets performance, cost, and sustainability goals. You’ll lead technical tasks, drive testing and validation, and ensure packaging designs align with both market demands and internal standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the end-to-end packaging development of projects for the North America Region including primary, secondary, and ecommerce packaging.
Create robust specifications for packaging components, finished goods, and pallet factors, along with accurate BOM setup.
Collaborate with project managers and cross functional teams to build project timeline, deliver key milestones, provide input on technical risks and mitigation plans, and participate in project meetings accordingly.
Focus on growth, business continuity, sustainability projects, following the technical processes and procedures in place.
Responsible for completing all technical deliverables properly and on-time.
Complete performance and compatibility testing in support of packaging component changes.
Develop validation and line qualification plans, perform lab tests, and document results in technical reports.
Provide technical expertise and critical thinking skills to evaluate and correct package-related issues to maintain production schedules and product quality.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, packaging science or other relevant engineering disciplines and 2+ years of product/packaging development experience, OR an Advanced degree.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Experience and technical competency in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging design
Expertise in multiple packaging disciplines such as aerosols and liquids packaging, dispensing systems, materials, closures, manufacturing line requirements, plastic molding techniques, and/or product/environment compatibility.
Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and BOM.
Proactive problem solver and results driven, with ability to anticipate risks and communicate mitigation recommendations.
Strong team player.
Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written presentation, including effective storytelling to the non-technical individual.
Comfortable working in complex and ambiguous situations.
Experience with AI (Artificial Intelligence).

This position works in an office environment and will be located at our Sam’s campus in Mt. Pleasant
Full time days, Mon thru Fri, business hours
Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
Ability to lift 10 – 40 pounds
This role is eligible for domestic relocation
