Description
The Greenwood School of Music is seeking a full-time visiting assistant professor to teach both undergraduate and graduate-level jazz applied guitar, as well as applied guitar for undergraduate majors in music industry. Additional teaching assignments may be made based on the School’s needs and the candidate’s areas of expertise. The ideal candidate should be an active performing and recording artist with experience in various professional settings within the jazz and commercial music fields. Responsibilities also include recruiting and retaining students and fostering a welcoming learning environment. Preference will be given to candidates with studio and recording experience. This position is contingent upon available funding.
Qualifications
Master’s degree required. Preference given to candidates with previous university level teaching experience, a strong record of recruitment and retention, and a strong record of live performance and studio recording in jazz and commercial genres.
