deciBel Research has an immediate opening for an (A&D) ADTO Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Position Description:
The successful candidate will provide testing support at local hardware in the loop test venues, local Government hardware in the loop test venues, and at remote sites for Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) assets. They will execute system tests to ensure that defects have not been introduced into the hardware and software during transportation, installation, connectivity, and that the hardware and software function together at the various sites as they did in the development laboratory.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 0 years of related experience not to exceed 7 years of related work experience
- Security Plus certification
- Familiar with reading, writing, and execution of test case procedures
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Recent experience (hands on within the last 1 year) testing software and hardware for performance and functionality based on core functionality and requirements
- Recent experience (hands on within the last 1 year) with software and hardware test planning, monitoring, and test execution
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to support business (Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii)
- Huntsville, AL is the Primary Work Location (when not on travel)
Special Skills Desired:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related field
- Testing software for performance and functionality based on requirement specification and ability to identify and document exact sequence of activities desired
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure and hardware
- Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition
- Experience working in team using Agile Methodologies
- Experience in a Test Lead role
- Experience with Automated Testing
- Experience with Missile Defense Systems
