Summer Intern - Quality Assurance, part time

This is a 3-month internship designed to enable a mid-college applicant to gain a set of new skills and experiences while helping resolve a mix of lower complexity problems and administrative support functions for the summer of 2024. The intern’s project will involve working with our supervisors to propagate the new Competency Templates into each department. Intern will work closely with our engineering team and manufacturing personnel to support various projects aimed at standardizing, tracking progress, such has certificate scanning and electronic filing, locating expired calibration tools on the shop floor, and updating work instructions based on red-line edits from leads and engineers. May - August 2024, on-site, part-time.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Business, or related field from a four-year university
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and engage with diverse groups of manufacturing personnel
- Ability to create standards, standard work, and visual management tools to support process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated passion for making improvements and driving positive change in manufacturing environments
- Analytical skills and interpret data to drive decision-making
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel for data analysis and/or familiarity with other analysis tools
- Open-minded and receptive to feedback, with a commitment to ongoing improvement and development
