Job Summary: Epirus is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Enterprise Architecture team. Reporting to the Enterprise Solutions Architect, the Data Analyst will work closely with Epirus' ERP system as it drives many core day to day transactions. Managing and understanding the data generated by these transactions, as well as those coming from the Manufacturing, HR and Engineering systems, is critical to the company’s success. The Data Analyst will be instrumental in understanding how to access, manipulate, transform and ultimately present this data in ways defined by business users across Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, Contracts, Facilities and Executive Leadership. This position will be responsible for the technical build of all aspects of this work.
The ideal candidate for the position will have demonstrable experience in a fast-pace, agile business environment working with business intelligence, analytics and reporting tools, Epicor Kinetic ERP and related data sets, and the ability to transform data into readable reports, dashboards or integration sets.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of query, dashboard and report development in Epicor Kinetic ERP, serving as a system of record and hub to other systems that rely on its data, processes and triggers
- Use of off-the-shelf tools to extract/load data to/from ERP, MES and other systems on-prem and in SaaS databases
- Build relationships with business users and lead meetings to gather requirements, provide status updates, test and obtain sign-off on dashboards, reports and other deliverables
- Collaborate with business teams to understand and prioritize their analytics needs, including developing an awareness of critical business processes and related metrics and KPIs
- Transform data into readable reports, dashboards or integrations, in alignment with business goals
- Work with other experts and decision makers to understand and document project requirements
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, build scripts and queries that will make our data evaluation, display and movement more flexible and scalable
- Build organizational knowledge around data models of core datasets in order to build queries to visualize and move data between systems
- Perform testing and validation of data sets to understand and ensure statistical integrity
- Evaluate and troubleshoot system datasets for efficiency, problems and inaccuracies, and develop processes for handling and cleaning data
- Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, building simple frameworks from complicated problems
- Identify trends through the analysis of complex data sets
- Research new ways to make use of data and related technologies based on business needs
- Document structures and types of business data
- Setup processes and systems to make working with data more efficient
Basic Qualifications:
- Expert with Microsoft Excel and advanced knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools including, but not limited to, Tableau, PowerBI, SSRS, SQL and Odata query building or database management tools
- Experience with ERP systems and related data sets, preferably Epicor Kinetic
- Understanding of relationships and processes of procure-to-pay in corporate finance
- 5+ years of combined experience as a data analyst and report designer, involving database and data model design
- Ability to analyze, model, interpret and communicate data and other components of work structures
- Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL and Postman a plus
- Knowledge of middleware solutions and processes to extract, transform and load datasets across systems a plus
- Proven success in a collaborative, matrixed and team-oriented environment
- Experience in a fast-pace, agile business environment
- Ability to plan work and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, or statistics
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work in-person for a minimum of three days per week
