Responsibilities

The Medical Office Assistant 1 (MOA1) provides basic medical office clerical support. Works under general supervision with routine duties following established procedures and guidelines. Accountabilities 1. Respond to inquiries/routes more complex inquiries to the correct staff.2. Disseminate information.3. Create new medical record numbers.4. Simple registration, insurance verification and insurance billing.5. Appointment scheduling, obtain referral and authorization prior to scheduling patient check.6. Disposition encountering.7. Medication refill request.8. Answer incoming telephone calls and either provide information, forward call to the correct individual or take a written message.9. No show chart checks.10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

 

Experience• 1 year of healthcare clerical/administrative support experience or equal education required• Customer service experience required
