Position Summary

The Assistant Director for Physical Education provides instruction and strategic leadership for developing, instructing, and operations of credit-bearing classes. This position teaches 5-7 physical education classes per term. The Assistant Director oversees curriculum management and faculty supervision for approximately 25 unique course titles and oversight of ~40 classes per term in the areas of: Individual Activities, Martial Arts, Racquet Sports, Running, and Team Sports.

The Assistant Director for Physical Education makes decisions on curriculum development, course policies and delivery, hiring and mentoring practices, work priorities and assignments, and budgetary needs and reviews. This position is responsible for mentoring and evaluating, on average, 14 pro tem and career instructional faculty, and hiring additional instructors as needed.

The Assistant Director for Physical Education reports to the Associate Director of Physical Education and is a member of the PE Team.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field.
• Two (2) years of full-time responsibility in an environment reflecting experience in instruction in physical education or related courses.
• Two (2) years of full-time administrative experience in a professional setting.
• Evidence of experience, expertise and/or certification in at least one of the following areas: Individual Activities, Martial Arts, Racque
