Summary of Role
The Data Annotation Specialist (DAS) Tier I is an essential entry-level role, acting as the "human-in-the-loop" to generate high-quality, accurately labeled "ground truth" data. This precision work is critical for training Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, involving the categorization and labeling of raw data across text, images, video, and audio.
Your Impact & What You'll Do
- Data Labeling & Categorization: Accurately apply labels using techniques such as bounding boxes, polygons, and Named Entity Recognition (NER).
- Data Transcription: Transcribe speech content from audio and video files into precise text formats.
- Document Classification: Classify documents and data points into predefined categories to support model organization.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct initial reviews of annotated data to verify accuracy and consistency before it proceeds to model training.
- Issue Identification: Promptly identify and escalate ambiguous data points or "edge cases" to senior team members or AI engineers.
- Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of sensitive datasets, adhering to regulations like GDPR and HIPAA.
Why You'll Thrive at Execo
- Experience Level: You are an entry-level or junior professional (0–2 years of experience) looking to build a career in AI.
- Attention to Detail: You possess exceptional precision, understanding that minor errors can significantly impair AI model performance.
- Adherence to Guidelines: You have the ability to follow complex, non-subjective instructions with total accuracy.
- Computer Literacy: You have strong fundamental computer skills, proficiency in Excel, and the aptitude to learn platforms like Labelbox or CVAT.
- Ideal Background: You may have experience in data entry, writing, or editing, which translates perfectly to this Tier I position.
- Educational Foundation: High school diploma is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Linguistics is a plus.
