While acting as the full-time, onsite ANDRITZ representative to the customer, the Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer is responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to improve and optimize the performance of the mill. This will be achieved by suggesting modifications of process control, conducting data analysis through the Metris All In-one platform, develop/deploy Advanced Process Control (APC)Strategies, tuning PID control loops and identification of opportunities for improvement in the process.
Responsibilities
- Execute optimization projects
- Process Data Analysis for determination of causes of process variability
- Identify opportunities and propose solutions for savings and efficiency enhancement
- Identify process interaction or disturbances
- Design APC solutions, including control strategies, and implement our technologies to optimize process performance
- Generate control narratives for APC projects.
- PID loops assessment and tuning parameters
- Advanced data analytics for Metris platform-based virtual sensors
- Work with control room operators and process engineers to complete commissioning and control response tests
- Continuous monitoring to ensure benefits over the time
- Liase with other ANDRITZ professionals
Skills & Knowledge
- Degree or diploma in relevant engineering discipline
- Knowledge in automation and control (PID Controller, tuning control loops, process types: self-regulated / integrator; process modeling: 1st order, 2nd order, dead time)
- Basic knowledge of Pulp & Paper industrial processes
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in automation
- Microcomputers (Windows, outlook and office package)
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
