Our Human Resources is seeking an individual with acute attention to detail, great communication, and a positive attitude to join our team.

Job Duties include:
Prepare and process electronically the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy of final payroll results. See that one-time adjustments to classification and compensation and benefits are processed, and payrolls are submitted timely.

Provide technical support to include talent acquisition, classification and compensation, retirement, and benefits.

Answer standard questions as they pertain to State Personnel rules, labor contracts, the employing agency’s personnel policies, and the State’s insurance.

Assist with submitting job applicants to supervisors, verifying employment, and recruiting.

Perform traditional accounting functions such as posting data; processing deposits; coding vouchers for identification; and posting data to ledgers, journals and worksheets to establish and maintain records of financial transactions.
Reviews data on vouchers, invoices, computer printouts, and other source documents, files or databases to ensure the information is accurate and complete and in compliance with established agency policies and procedures to identify possible adverse and other financial conditions.
Reviews accounting transactions for completeness and accuracy.
Collects money and stores money in cash drawer for deposit with State Treasurer.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.


 

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification: One year of coursework or training in personnel management, business administration, public administration, office/administrative, or two years of related experience.

Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required.


 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:

(These are needed to perform the work assigned.) Knowledge of; personnel practices, procedures, and terminology; the goals and requirements of record maintenance and confidentiality; federal personnel/employment laws; standard personnel, payroll, benefits, and related budgeting practices, forms, and requirements; standard teammate/job safety and health practices; general labor/teammate management relations requirements and practices.

Ability to: communicate in person, and by telephone, computer, email, and correspondence, with the supervisor and other agency teammates to exchange factual information and explain processes and guidelines; understand and apply instructions; evaluate similarities and differences between two sets of information; operate office equipment; set up and maintain record keeping systems and databases; understand, explain, and apply agency and state rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines; recommend changes to procedures; compile data and prepare summaries of personnel transactions and activities.

Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive information with rules and regulations, including HIPAA, guidelines on the disclosure of information.

Working knowledge of JD Edwards time entry process and WorkDay system.
