About the role

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support the Camp Montana East contract in El Paso, TX.

POSITION SUMMARY

Supervise, monitors, and evaluates the staff including ensuring staff is adequately trained; coordinates, priorities and schedules workloads to ensure timely and effective completion of work.

Other duties include:

  • Oversees the transfers, adjustments, turn-ins, issues, receipts and controls of all property assigned to contract.
  • Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the overall effective logistics operations to support the initiatives and directives of the customer and the company.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • In absence of Operations Manager, act as the liaison with other contractors and the customer for planning, implementing and coordinating logistics activities.
  • Enters data into multiple databases, conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to supply transactions and patterns, assists personnel in preparing lost/damaged statements for lost, destroyed or damaged property and discusses problems for clarification and settlements of discrepancies. Updates databases retrieves data and uses data to respond to a variety of customers.
  • Oversees the transfers, adjustments, turn-ins, issues, receipts and controls of all property assigned to contract and associate contractors.
  • Directs personnel in making decisions and recognizing problems relating to such determinations and needs for property review, detection of discrepancy caused, and adjustments, etc.
  • Visits job sites to ensure all safety precautions are being implemented.
  • Regularly inspects work sites and databases during working hours to determine quality and completeness.
  • Reviews all work, labor time sheets and other related tasks and databases for accuracy
  • Responsible for training, planning, assigning and directing work, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems of direct reports.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two (2) years as supervisor or equivalent experience required.
  • Requires operating application software including word-processing and spreadsheet programs. 
  • Working knowledge of the functions and operations of military commands or government agencies. 
  • Knowledge of business practices and procedures plus facility planning management. 
  • Excellent Supervisory, leadership, planning, decision making and scheduling skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks independently. 
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, practices, and equipment generally used in the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of open and closed water supply and distribution systems preferred. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
