About the role

Position Title: Buildings & Grounds Attendant Department: Plant Operations Term of Assignment: Continuing Term End Date, If Applicable:   FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt = overtime eligible Work Schedule: Variable shift/variable days; traditionally Monday-Friday, 5:00 am-1:30 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required Salary: $17.42 starting; $18.28 working Travel: No travel Brief Statement of Duties Brief Statement of Duties: Under routine supervision, engage in a variety of housekeeping, custodial and maintenance projects in University buildings and on adjacent grounds. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: High School Graduation or Equivalent Discipline / Degree Area:   Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Valid motor vehicle operator's license as required. Required Minimum Work Experience: Combination of two years of experience in custodial and/or building and grounds maintenance work in hotels/motels, apartments, or relevant business or institutional settings. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Physical capability to perform all the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to pass relevant oral, written, and/or performance testing.
Ability to maintain currency of technology and tools.
Conscientious and self-motivated.

Remains calm in stressful situations. Additional Desirable Qualifications Additional Desirable Qualifications: Completion of relevant training.
Experience in the building trades, grounds maintenance, and/or landscaping.
