PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties to assist in the care of patients and efficient operations of the provider practice. Regularly performs patient care duties within his/her scope of practice. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and provider. Performs clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients as directed by supervisor(s) so the patients may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Usual working space is a well-ventilated patient care and office area. Physical requirements of the job are detailed within this job description. Direct patient care requires both fine and gross motor skills. Also subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens at all times in patient care. May have occasional exposure to radiation during radiology procedures and to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents). Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work productively under stressful conditions is necessary.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
Assesses Nursing Care Needs of Patients in All Age Groups
- Pertinent assessment data are collected using appropriate assessment techniques (interview, observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation and review of reports and records). Established screening questions are completed and documented.
- Data collection involves the patients, significant others, and other health care providers as appropriate.
- Documents patient assessment data using established medical record forms/EHR and documentation practices.
- Patient problems are derived from the assessment data and in collaboration with the patient/significant others.
- Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in all age groups.
- Obtains current list of medications patient is taking and documents.
Delivers, Delegates, Supervises and Evaluates Nursing Care for All Age Groups
- Nursing Care reflects current nursing practice.
- Nursing Care provides for continuity of care.
- Delegates responsibility for nursing interventions according to the support staff’s
