Job Description

AECOM is seeking experienced Environmental Project Managers in the Northeast region with leaking underground storage tank (UST) investigation/remediation experience and leaking UST regulatory knowledge in the states of CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, and/or VT.  This position will report to one of the AECOM offices in the Northeast region including but not limited to Chelmsford MA, Rocky Hill CT, Providence RI, Buffalo NY, Albany NY, Piscataway NJ and lead a team of diverse professionals.  The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate UST investigation/remediation project experience and people management experience, and require a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing scope, schedule, and budget for investigation/remediation projects
  • Manage Project Managers to deliver internal and external KPIs
  • Building strong client relationships
  • Client and regulatory correspondence
  • Technical report writing and review
  • Analyzes and applies solutions to atypical and/or semi-complex and challenging issues within area of expertise
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals
  • Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders
  • Responsible for quality control of tasks
  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits
  • Mentor project Jr. staff
  • Will require some regional travel for field visits
  • Supervise up to 10 staff

Remote work is an option if applicable to project responsibilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, or closely related field
  • 4+ years of Project Management experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Driver’s License, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening
  • Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on UST site investigation / remediation
  • 6 years of project management experience
  • Experience managing teams and other project managers
  • Experience working for clients in the oil and gas market sector
  •  Experience working with environmental regulatory agencies in CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, and/or VT
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000.
