We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to join our growing team. The primary mission of the Platform analytics team is to enable the availability and reliability of data across the enterprise to support Elastic’s strategic objectives by driving how data is defined, consumed, delivered, and governed.

What You Will be Doing

• Gain technical expertise in building a data platform at scale to solve business, product and technical use cases
• Closely work with product managers and business partners to come up with innovative ideas and solutions to produce high quality data at scale.
• Design, implement and maintain ETL pipelines.
• Continuously design, develop and test data driven solutions.
• Gain cross departmental exposure and flexibility to engage with many teams in the company in different countries in the world.
• Support delivery and implementation of enterprise wide data and insights initiatives
• Collaborate with Business users to understand data challenges and develop logical, flexible and scalable solutions to address them
• Define data models that tie together disparate data across the entire organization.
• Identify and develop the critical metrics to track and monitor the health/quality of information

What You Bring Along

• Strong ability in SQL and Python
• 3+ years of architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scalability, quality) of complex systems.
• 5+ years relevant technical experience in Data Engineering, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Advanced coding skills and practices (concurrency, distributed systems, functional principles, performance optimization).
• Familiarity with elasticsearch usage and administration, including query features, index mappings, index lifecycle management.
• Experience leading enterprise wide data projects, structured and unstructured, joining large and complex data sets
• Experience with or interest in Clojure
• Excel at taking vague/ high level requirements, crystallizing and delivering on them in scalable data solutions in an agile environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
