About the role

As a Principal Product Manager on the Create team, you will be responsible for defining and delivering new AI-powered creation experiences in Microsoft 365 Copilot. You will work closely with engineers, designers, researchers, and other product managers to understand customer problems, identify opportunities, and launch innovative solutions. You will help define vision and strategy for the team and you will also collaborate with cross-functional teams across Microsoft to align on the vision, strategy, and roadmap for these AI-forward creation experiences. Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence the end-to-end product development process, driving strategic initiatives from ideation to launch and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Define and prioritize product requirements and strategic themes, balancing customer needs, business objectives, and long-term vision using data-driven insights and stakeholder input.
  • Shape product strategy through deep user research, advanced market analysis, and competitive benchmarking, identifying emerging trends and opportunities to maintain a leadership position.
  • Communicate and present product vision, strategy, and roadmap to various stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineering, design, marketing, and sales.
  • Establish and monitor success metrics for product performance and business impact, leveraging advanced analytics and qualitative insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Drive continuous innovation and iteration based on user feedback, data, and learnings

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to develop product roadmaps to deliver customer and business value across products and services.
  • Track record of successful design, delivery, and iteration on complex projects with a diverse set of stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product management OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of building and launching generative AI products, with hands-on experience in applying large language models, diffusion models, or other AI models to solve real-world user problems. Demonstrated ability to translate cutting-edge AI research into scalable, user-centric product experiences
  • Solid customer empathy and user-centric mindset, with experience in conducting user research and testing.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive product decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and influence various audiences.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality products that meet customer and business goals.
  • Passion for innovation and creativity, with a willingness to experiment and learn from failures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.


Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
