Provider Assistant - Medical Assistant

About the role

This position is responsible for a variety of patient care duties and other related duties in the clinic setting. Under the supervision of an RN or physician/provider, this position performs documentation of medical record information, administration of medications and treatments as well as obtaining medical histories and vital signs. All programs and activities are designed to support the short and long term mission, goals and objectives of the Stillwater Medical Group.

 

Work Schedule: 12.5 hrs. weekly / .3125 FTE

Week 1: Thursday and Friday 4:00pm-8:15pm

Week 2: Monday- Thursday 4:00pm-8:15pm

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires the completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with a current Medical Assistant Certification (American Association of Medical Assistants [CMA] or American Medical Technologists [RMA] or an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program with current LPN license in MN and WI.
  • Current BLS certification required
  • OSHA Training
  • One year medical assistant experience and/or Licensed practical nurse in a clinic preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent customer service skills; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients/ families/clinic staff members. Demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions.
  • Understanding of patient education needs, able to effectively share information with patients, family members and clinic staff as needed.
  • Ability to learn, retain information regarding patient care procedures.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks.
  • Remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Experience with electronic medical record system preferred (Epic).
  • Basic computers skills
  • Ability to learn Epic electronic medical records system
