Project Overview:

The Infrastructure GBU’s, Renewables & Clean Power business line is pursuing future combined cycle power plant projects.  The business line is assembling a proposal team to be based in Reston, VA prior to mobilizing to field upon project award. 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. 

You will support the proposal(s) of future combined cycle power plant projects with the intention of mobilizing to the field upon award. #LI-KL1 

Major Responsibilities:

On a medium sized job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Deputy Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section. 

Leadership/Supervision 

• Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback.
• Supervises a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.   

Work Planning & Packaging 

• Coordinates with design on constructability issues.   

Material Management  

• Directs the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, and equipment.  

Quantities 

• Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.   

Safety / Quality Control 

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 

System Turnover Coordinator

• Possesses responsibility for coordinating between construction and startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the startup specialist as required to support component/system
